Gadot, who recently got slashed from the Wonder Woman franchise, appeared on Josh Horowitz’s podcast, Happy Sad Confused, earlier this week, and he asked her outright why she’s participating in the film despite its controversial use of AI.
“I’m afraid of AI, but am I going to be afraid and look away? No,” Gadot responded. “I’m afraid and I’m playing with it and I’m learning it and I’m trying to educate myself with it, because I think that the train had left the station, you know? It’s one of those things. It’s either you’re going to…”
“Work with it,” Horowitz chimed in. “To ignore it is at your own peril.”
“Or be out of the game completely,” Gadot responded. “So I’m trying to make the best of it and protect whatever I can protect, but the AI component in this movie is for sets and for the lighting.”
Later on in the conversation, Gadot mentioned that her contract took a long time to finalize because she was adamant against AI impacting her own performance. “I absolutely did not want the AI to have anything to do with my performance, and so we had to protect that.”
