We are all guilty of holding onto some clothing items well past their expiration dates. Personally, I can't bring myself to throw out my comfy sweats and flannel pajama bottoms. I've had the same (mis)matching hoodie and drawstring pants since college. Yes, this is not something to be proud of, but the suckers are just so comfortable! And apparently I'm not alone. On today's Oprah show, Oprah featured Shlumpadinka Makeovers, helping one entire town go from frumpy to fabulous by updating their smelly old weekend wear.
Oprah and her resident style expert, Lloyd Boston, were adamant that every woman own a white fitted button-down shirt. Worn under short-sleeve cardigans, or belted over sharp black pants, this classic will make any woman instantly chic. We are big fans of the Semantiks Stretch Poplin Blouse ($68).
Ladies, you don't have to forget comfy pants altogether! For daytime errands, Lloyd suggests finding a great pair of black yoga pants like these Splendid Yoga Pants ($79), and pairing them with a cropped jacket and brightly colored scarf.
Oprah and Boston also shared with us the classic pieces that every woman should have in her closet. Among them were the perfect trench for day, and a killer tunic for night. We love the Gap's long-belted version ($88) and this Leaves of Grass Malay Tunic Blouse ($225).
