Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s messy legal battle is heating up once again, with the former couple facing off in court over their ongoing dispute surrounding their French winery, Château Miraval. In a new court filing, Jolie’s lawyer accused Pitt of trying to “control her” and “cover up his abuse” through what the attorney described as a “demand for harassing information.” Keep reading for more information.

New Pitt-Jolie Court Documents Revealed
Angelina Jolie's legal team has been pushing back against Brad Pitt's attempts to obtain her financial records from 2017 through 2019. Pitt and his team argue that her financial records could help establish whether her financial circumstances played a role in her decision to sell her stake in Château Miraval in 2021. However, a judge recently ruled against Pitt's demand.
In response, Jolie's lawyer, Paul Murphy, took a jab at Pitt through TMZ, criticizing his legal tactics and arguing that the request was not only unnecessary, but an attempt to control her. "Mr. Pitt's unyielding demand for harassing information is just the latest manifestation of his attempts to control her and the narratives in this case," he told the publication."
"What Angelina wants and has always wanted is to untangle her personal and financial life from her ex-husband. Rather than do the right thing and buy her out at an agreed price, Mr. Pitt at the last minute tried to use her exit from Miraval as leverage to force her [to] sign an NDA to cover up his abuse of her and their children. That is what this case is about, not her personal income from five years before she sold her interest."

Château Miraval: A Point Of Contention
Jolie and Pitt's legal dispute over the French winery and estate dates back to 2021, when Jolie sold her 50% stake in Château Miraval to a subsidiary of the Stoli Group. Pitt subsequently filed a lawsuit alleging that Jolie violated an agreement requiring neither party to sell their interest in the business without the other’s consent. Jolie argued that no agreement like that even exists.
The legal battle has since expanded, with both sides accusing the other of misconduct and seeking documents and testimony to support their respective claims. Pitt has argued that Jolie's sale of her stake violated their agreement and damaged his interests in the business. Jolie, meanwhile, has alleged that Pitt's actions surrounding the winery were part of a broader pattern of controlling behavior, and her legal team has connected the dispute to allegations of abuse that she has made about their relationship. Pitt has denied allegations of abuse, and the competing claims have continued to play out in court as the former couple battles over the future of the winery and the circumstances surrounding its sale.
