The intricate bodice featured black fabric panels over sheer nude mesh, creating a barely-there, naked effect, while the high-waisted, floor-length skirt had a sleek, figure-hugging silhouette, as well as a daring slit at the back.
The mom-of-two accessorized her dress with statement asymmetrical gold drop earrings by Schiaparelli, featuring the fashion house's signature surrealist-inspired anatomical details. It's clear she was going for drama with the entire look!
She wore her hair in a bold slicked-back high ponytail, which kept the focus on the Schiaparelli earrings and intricate neckline of her gown. And for makeup, the Candy actress went for a flawless base, bronzed cheeks, softly lined eyes, and soft pink lips, allowing her statement dress and jewelry to command all of the attention.
The London screening came just two days after the movie's world premiere in New York on October 5th. Biel stars alongside John Cena, Sam Richardson, Teyonah Parris, and Arturo Castro in the action-adventure movie, which is inspired by Mattel's iconic Matchbox toy cars. The movie marks Biel's first film appearance in more than nine years, and premiered globally on Apple TV on October 9th.
Fans Are Divided Over Jessica Biel's 'Hideous' Illusion Dress
As we previously mentioned, Biel's daring red carpet appearance sparked quite the debate on Instagram and Reddit, with many fans taking issue with the unusual design of her dress.
"Love her but not the dress!" exclaimed one fan. "Hideous dress and looks awful on her," criticized a second, as a third agreed: "The top of that dress is hideous." "Not crazy about the dress but I love her hair and she looks fantastic," commented a fourth.
It wasn't just the dress that got people talking, as Biel's gold earrings also divided opinion. "I normally love Schiaparelli, but the unevenness of the earrings is bothering me. Like they're almost the same length so it almost feels unintentional or like her ears are different than intentional. Aside from her hair she looks fabulous though!" wrote a fifth.
"Are they accidentally twisted or something? I had to double take and I still don't get it," questioned a sixth, in reference to the earrings. "No they're just completely different. Look at the tops, one is a nose and one is an ear. I often like asymmetrical designs, but not when they're so close that it looks like a mistake," replied a seventh.
"I thought she was Chelsea Handler at first," remarked an eighth, as others focused on the actress's facial expressions, rather than the outfit, with several fans suggesting that she looked unhappy. A few even brought up her marriage to Justin Timberlake, which has been "on the brink" for a while, if we are to believe the rumors.

Despite the criticism, plenty of fans loved Biel's bold fashion choice and had nothing but positive things to say about her red carpet appearance. "She looks amazing," gushed a fourteenth fan.
