Prince William recently shared a sweet memory about the time he spent with his late ‘Granny,’ Queen Elizabeth II, but some find his statements to be ironic considering the way he’s been treating his younger brother.

The prince opened up about a “dear” memory he had with his late grandmother in a vulnerable new video. However, after recent reports came out that he’s allegedly threatening to “boycott” any royal events that might involve his brother, Prince Harry, during his visit to the UK this summer, fans of the monarchs are calling him a “hypocrite.” Read more about what he had to say about his time with his grandmother, and the latest updates on his and his brother’s rift below.

Prince William Recalls Fond Memory With Queen Elizabeth II In New Video

The royal family has experienced quite a lot in the last five years, and one of the most notable, life-altering events was the passing of Queen Elizabeth II, given that not only was she an iconic figure, but also the longest-reigning UK monarch.

Her famous grandson and the future king of England, Prince William, recently sat down to record a tribute video in her honor, a trend being followed by prominent figures in history and pop culture. During the video, he became more vulnerable and recalled one of the "fondest memories" he has with his late grandmother, who passed away at 96 years old in 2022.

"Whilst I had the privilege to know the late Queen better than most, some of my fondest memories of my grandmother are from here in Windsor," he revealed in the video, which can be seen here. "I remember many a quiet afternoon, having tea with her and my grandfather at the castle, chatting, sharing stories, and seeing how completely at ease she was here, surrounded by family and her much-loved dogs and horses."

Social Media Users Call Prince William A 'Hypocrite' After He Reportedly Threatened To 'Boycott' Future Family Events

Another major moment in your family history is reportedly just about to happen, as Prince Harry, who famously left his life in the UK and stepped down from his royal duties alongside Meghan Markle in 2020, is getting ready to visit his home country.

Though there haven't been too many details confirmed about his trip, there are reports that he's going with the intention of easing sme of the tension with his family members, specifically his father, King Charles, and brother, Prince William. But as the visit draws closer, so have reports about the future king's disdain for his brother and the upcoming event.

"All this talk that William is now threatening to boycott Sandringham is utterly ridiculous and over the top," a source recently told Heat World. "In his view, he assumes it's something that was said in the heat of the moment, and once the dust settles, William will hopefully calm down and start to see common sense."

Upon hearing that the dad-of-three was prepared to go as far as to "boycott" and reject any family events with his brother this summer, social media users began to accuse him of being hypocritical after seeing his family-oriented video tribute.

"Yet William is throwing a tantrum when Charles wants to see his grandkids," commented an Instagram user. "The hypocrisy is wild."

"It's a pity he didn't learn basic public decorum and how to be magnanimous from his granny and cut the toddler temper tantrums with his brother," wrote another. "He's the heir to the throne. His brother and [sister-in-law] aren't a threat to that, so stop acting like a child."

"You hate your brother, stop the act," added a user.
