Donald Trump is being accused of not caring about the “average American” after he recently called an affordable housing bill “a big yawn.” The bill aims to lower housing costs for Americans across the nation, but to Trump, it’s low priority. Keep reading for more information.

Donald Trump Calls Affordable Housing Bill A 'Big Yawn'
Last week, Donald Trump canceled the signing ceremony for the affordable housing bill because the SAVE America Act, which is Trump's top priority, has not passed the Senate.
The housing bill, however, has enough support to override a presidential veto. Regardless, reporters asked Trump if he planned on signing the housing bill, to which he replied: "It hasn’t been sent to me yet. It’s coming, I understand, and then I’ll make the determination."
"Here’s what I would like to say, much more than a bill that – big deal," he continued. "It’s a yawn. Some people say it’s wonderful. To me, compared to the SAVE America Act, just about everything is a big yawn."

Social Media Reactions
Across social media platforms, users were outraged to hear of Trump's indifference to a bill that could change the lives of many Americans. "A yawn? Try telling that to the families who can’t afford rent, can’t afford to buy gas or groceries, and are one paycheck away from losing everything," Colorado Representative Brittany Peterson wrote on X.
"It’s hard to overstate how out of touch 'it’s a yawn' sounds in a country where housing is one of the biggest financial pressures people face," wrote another user.
"Donald Trump literally does not care about your cost of living, part one million," a third person posted.
"Saving 400,000 rural homes from falling into disrepair isn't a yawn to people in small towns you claim to care about," added the next.
"His ballroom and pool are more important than any of us to him," agreed another user.
"If I had as much trouble staying awake as Trump does, I certainly would not highlight that fact by referring to a bill passed by Congress as a 'yawn'," a final user wrote.
