Taylor Swift proved once again that she is always “bejeweled” when she walks into a room and can “make the whole place shimmer!” The Midnights singer-songwriter, 33, stunned fans at the 2023 iHeartRadio Music Awards in Los Angeles as she rocked a blue-gray hooded jumpsuit and matching pantaboots adorned with shiny crystals.
Her ensemble featured pieces from Alexandre Vauthier’s Spring/ Summer 2023 couture collection, and was complete with even more glitter, courtesy of KatKim, Anita Ko and Fernando Jorge jewelry pieces. At the Dolby Theatre event in Hollywood, Swift took home the major Innovator Award for her enduring and record-breaking contributions to the music industry.

As for the other standout details of Swift’s outfit, her long-sleeved top featured structured, pointed shoulders and her matching boots were made with a trendy pointed-toe shape. The Grammy winner further dazzled up her eye-catching get-up with icy blue eyeshadow, black liner, mascara, rosy blush and a glossy pink pout.

Underneath her hood, she wore her long blonde tresses and wispy bangs down and styled straight. The “Bejeweled” singer’s mani also matched her clothing. At the ceremony, Swift graciously accepted the Innovator Award, and was given a trophy by fellow musician (and her Eras tour opener) Phoebe Bridgers. Before handing out the award, Bridgers spoke about Swift inspiring her as a songwriter, and the Lover artist was visibly moved.
In her speech, Swift said, “With the Innovator Award, I never a single time woke up in the morning and thought, ‘You know what I’m gonna do today? I’m gonna go innovate some stuff. Things need to be innovated and I’m gonna be the one that does it.’ But what I did do was try to make the right decision for me at the time, whether or not it had been successfully done before.”

She added, “And I think that maybe that might be the key because oftentimes, in any industry, people are looking for a precedent or data that shows this idea is a good one or a feasible one. People want an example of something working before, but I think the coolest ideas, or moves or choices are the new ones, the ones that set a new precedent. I’m very privileged because my fans have backed me up on things like switching genres or re-recording all my old music.”

Swift then acknowledged that the awards show may have highlighted her success, but it came through trial and error: “But I do want to say that the thing with these exciting nights and moments and specifically this award that I’m so lucky to have gotten is that they’re shining a light on the choices I made that worked out, right?” she continued.

“The ones that turned out to be good ideas, but I really, really want everyone to know—especially young people—that the hundreds or thousands of dumb ideas that I’ve had are what led me to my good ideas. You have to give yourself permission to fail. I try as hard as I can not to fail because it’s embarrassing, but I give myself permission to, and you should too, so go easy on yourselves and just make the right choices that feel right for you and someday someone one day might thing you’ve been innovative.”

This wasn’t Swift’s only win of the night, as she also scored ‘Song of the Year’ for her mega-hit “Anti-Hero,” off Midnights, which she released in October 2022 (she also just became the first living recording artist to have seven albums charting in the top 40 of the Billboard 200 simultaneously).
