Miley Cyrus has entered an entirely new era, releasing a new music video, going by a new name, and stepping out in style while she does it.
The singer-songwriter released her latest single, “Bass Persuades,” and its music video over the weekend, where she can be seen wearing barely there outfits, including a cropped leather jacket and some teeny-tiny shorts, as she busted out some exciting choreography. It was a major moment for her and her fans, as it marks the first song she’s put out since dropping her last name as an artist, only going by “MILEY,” and beginning a new chapter. As per usual, many of her loyal fans were quick to hype up the new single and her look in the music video. Read more about it below.
Miley Cyrus Dances In A Cropped Leather Jacket & Micro-Mini Shorts In ‘Bass Persuades’ Music Video
The Disney Channel alum is back in action music-wise after surprising fans with the release of her new song and music video.
On Thursday, September 3rd, she released “Bass Persuades,” which is also the first single off her upcoming tenth studio album of the same name. In the song’s music video, which has an old-school pop feel to it, with some Madonna-style vocals and synth beats, Miley went all out with her choreography, doing some upbeat and elaborate choreography as she danced around various sets. As she sang lines like “The kids don’t want to dance,” she can be seen wearing a pair of simple, form-fitting black shorts, which she paired with a small black bra, sheer black tights, and a pair of black heels.
At some points in the video, she’s seen rocking a cropped leather jacket, adding an extra rebellious element to the already scandalous ensemble. Her two-toned blonde hair was worn down, straightened, and slightly tousled as she carried out her choreography. Given the video’s grungy and edgy vibe, she matched the aesthetic with some dark eye makeup.

The arrival of "Bass Persuades" also marks an exciting moment in the "Flowers" singer's career, as it brings with it a new album and a new era, as she recently changed her 'stage name.'
The Hannah Montana star appears to be leaving her famous last name behind, dropping "Cyrus" from her branding and going simply by "Miley." The move came just before she announced her 10th studio album, signaling a fresh chapter for the singer.
At the same time, she has not specifically explained whether the change is permanent or why she made it; her father, Billy Ray Cyrus, has voiced his support, calling it a "natural progression" for his daughter. On Instagram, after the music video dropped, fans and other internet users were quick to show Miley their support.
"You just SLAYED my entire life right now," commented a fan.
"This is exactly what we needed from Miley!" wrote another. "A complete smash on every level!"
One user pointed out how the video gave off "Madonna vibes," as another commented, "Britney Spears is smiling right now at her phone."
"She looks so good," a fan wrote, as another pointed out her "toned" physique.
"Wow, that's an amazing video," commented a user.
