Jennifer Aniston's Friends Are 'Not Sold' On Jim Curtis

Aniston and Curtis have been romantically linked for just over a year now, and have been spotted on multiple occasions hanging out with the actress's tight-knit friend group. However, new reports are emerging that some members of that friend group aren't quite yet on board with her new man. "Some of Jen's friends aren't totally sold on Jim yet," an insider told Page Six.

"They worry he could be an opportunist and feel like he can come off a bit performative," the source continued. "Everyone adores Jen and just wants the best for her because she absolutely deserves the world. At the end of the day, if she's happy then of course they're happy for her, but they're also really protective of her and don't ever want to see her get taken advantage of."

"Some of them are just having a difficult time fully trusting him right now," the insider added.

Aniston's Pals Speculate Curtis Is 'Using' Her

This report comes just a few days after a promotional event for Curtis's new book, in which the "Friends" star interviewed him. The event, which took place on September 2nd in New York, centers around his new book: The Book of Possibility: Release. Align. Become, is a self-help book that focuses on rewiring subconscious patterns. Tickets cost $100 each, and according to an insider, many of the Just Go With It actress's friends were starting to worry that "the lines between supportive girlfriend and marketing strategy are starting to blur."

"Let's be honest, Jennifer is the attraction," an insider told Naughty But Nice. "People aren't spending over a hundred dollars because they're desperate to hear Jim talk about his book. They're buying a ticket hoping to catch a glimpse of Jennifer. Without her, this event wouldn't be generating nearly as much buzz."

"The worry isn't that Jim wrote a book," another source added. "It's that Jennifer's fame is doing all the heavy lifting. Her friends are fiercely protective of her, and some think the lines between supportive girlfriend and marketing strategy are starting to blur."

"Whenever Jennifer Aniston shows up, she becomes the event," the insider continued. "The question everyone in Hollywood is asking is simple: Is this a book signing, or a Jennifer Aniston appearance disguised as one?"

Other sources close to the couple are saying that it's not the case at all. "Jennifer wanted to be there," one insider said. "Nobody twisted her arm. She believes in Jim, she's proud of him, and she's happy to support his work."
